Check-In, rebuilt from the ground up

We took the check-in you already knew and rebuilt it into the fastest, most reliable front desk in the industry.

Your customer opens their Check-In QR Code in the OpenCourt app, and you scan it with any plug-and-play USB scanner from anywhere in the admin panel. In about a second, OpenCourt confirms they're all set — or flags exactly what needs attention (a missing waiver, an unpaid booking, no booking today) with one-click ways to resolve it. One verdict engine now powers every check-in, so court and bay bookings, events, and programs all follow the same rules — every time.

What's new:

  • Scan from anywhere — no dedicated check-in screen to keep open. Scanning just works on every page of the admin panel.

  • A live Check-in panel on your Today page — see who needs attention and who's recently arrived, each tagged by how they checked in.

  • Rebuilt self check-in — post a QR code at your door and let customers check themselves in from their phone, under the exact same rules your staff use.

  • Works with any USB QR scanner — no proprietary hardware, no per-device fee.

Setup takes about two minutes. Read the full guide in the help center →

Product Updates: May 2026

Hi everyone,

We've been busy. Here's a look at the latest features now available in OpenCourt — built to save your staff time, give your customers a better experience, and give you more control over how your club runs.

🎯 Skill Ratings: DUPR & WPR Integration

Your customers can now connect their DUPR (pickleball) or World Padel Rating (padel) accounts directly to OpenCourt. Ratings sync automatically and can be used to gate events — so you can run a "4.0–4.5 DUPR singles only" open play without manually checking who qualifies. Customers see their verified ratings on their profile, and your staff sees them on the admin user page.

📱 Self Check-In Kiosk

Give your front desk a break. With the new Self Check-In Kiosk, customers scan a QR code to check themselves into their reservation. You can optionally require payment at check-in for walk-in fees — no staff involvement needed.

💬 Groups & Chat: Emoji Reactions + Image Attachments

Group chats just got a lot more lively. Members can now react to messages with emojis and send images directly in group conversations — making it easier to share court photos, celebrate wins, or just keep the energy up between sessions.

🏟️ Dependent Spaces (Convertible Courts)

Got a full-size court that can be split in two? Or two courts that can be combined for a larger format? Dependent Spaces lets you configure linked courts so that when one is booked, the other is automatically blocked. One setup, no double-bookings, no manual coordination.

📅 Event Improvements

A few updates that give you more control over how events fill up:

  • Cover images — Upload a photo for any event or program so it stands out in listings

  • Weekly & monthly participation limits — Cap how many times a player can join the same event type per week or month

🎓 Coach Lesson Creation in the Admin Panel

Admins can now create coach lessons directly from the admin panel — no need to go through the booking flow. Set the coach, participants, court, and time in one place. Perfect for scheduling private lessons on behalf of customers.

💳 Refunds to Club Credit

When a customer is owed a refund, you now have the option to issue it automatically as club credit instead of back to their card. Club credit can be spent on their next purchase — keeping revenue in-house and simplifying your refund workflow.

📊 Reports: Expanded Coaches Report + More

Your reporting suite has been significantly expanded:

  • Coaches report now includes clinics, events, booking passes used, and hours — with date range filtering and two CSV export formats (summary per coach or full lesson-by-lesson detail)

  • Customers & Memberships table now shows Customer Since date, membership start/end dates, and next billing date — all exportable to CSV

  • Transactions, invoices, event participation, and court utilization all have new CSV export buttons

🔔 Push Notifications for Event Reminders

Event reminder notifications are now delivered as push notifications on mobile in addition to email — so your customers actually see them before their session starts.

🎟️ Booking Pass Improvements

Three new options for how passes work at your club:

  • Court/bay restrictions — Limit a pass template so it can only be redeemed on specific courts or space types

  • Earliest & latest validity dates — Set an absolute date window for a pass package (e.g. "valid June 1 – August 31"), separate from the duration-based expiry

  • Gift a Pass Package — Configure a pass product so customers can buy it as a gift for someone else. The recipient gets the passes added to their account — great for birthdays, promotions, or bringing a friend to the club.

As always, these features are live in your admin panel now. If you have questions or want a walkthrough of anything above, reach out to our support team by clicking the chat button in the bottom right corner of your admin panel.

Dependent Spaces / Courts / Bays

Clubs with convertible courts — a tennis court that converts into 2 or 4 pickleball courts, a single soccer field that can be booked as halves, a multi-sport floor that books as one big space or two smaller ones — can now model that in OpenCourt. Dependent Spaces lets you declare that booking one space automatically blocks the others that share its physical footprint.

Set up a rule under Settings → Spaces and Categories. Pick a primary court, pick the secondary courts that share its space, save. From that moment on, any booking on the primary blocks the secondaries for the same time window — and vice versa. Admins editing a rule see a live preview of what gets blocked, plus a collision check that lists any existing bookings that would conflict before the rule is saved.
